# Stake XVI Coins

### Step 6: Stake XVI Coins

To stake XVI coins, send them to the XVI Consensus contract address from the validator address. The consensus contract address is 0x2042a4cE4A0a8123BA405B92293fC8D8cf5A29f8. You can do this by importing your private key or keystore file into a wallet (e.g., Metamask), switching the network to XVI, and sending the coins to the consensus contract address.

Your keystore file (containing your private key) and the password for the created account can be found in the /XVI/nodes/validator/keys/XVI/UTC--xxxx and /XVI/nodes/validator/node.pwd files, respectively.
